Little explorers – but at the right time

We understand that family celebrations and birthday parties often involve children of different ages. However, it is important to note that our escape room is not suitable for younger siblings of preschool age, not because we don't want them in the space, but because we want each child to have an experience appropriate to their developmental level.

Preschool children experience the world primarily through free-type play such as stacking, imagining, moving, exploring through touch and movement. Their attention is short-lived (often lasting only a few minutes), and the ability to think abstractly and logically is just beginning to develop. According to developmental psychologists such as Jean Piaget, children up to the age of six are mostly in the so-called preoperative phase of thinking, in which they cannot yet consistently follow complex tasks or understand rules that are not directly visible and concrete.

Escape rooms, on the other hand, require focused thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. When children who are not yet ready for this type of activity are in the room, they often become bored or frustrated, as older children try to solve puzzles, younger children look for toys, want to run, or play independently. This can disrupt the game and diminish the experience for the entire group, including the younger ones who actually want an activity tailored to their interests.

Therefore, we recommend that parents do not leave younger children at our birthday parties, but rather entrust them with someone to look after them or provide them with parallel and shared play in an age-appropriate space with creative materials. This way, each child gets what is most important to them, which is the experience of play in accordance with their own developmental needs.

Our goal is for every child, regardless of age, to leave the game with a smile and a sense of success, and this is best achieved when the activity is tailored specifically for them.

In order to provide everyone with a pleasant experience during birthday celebrations, in collaboration with Amazing Mini Kids, we have provided a solution for younger guests!

Parents who wish can leave younger children (under 7 years old) to play in Amazinga Mini Kids with 20% discount for a stay of 1 or 2 hours.
Vouchers (up to 4 per celebration) are available with each birthday package.

That way everyone can enjoy it – older ones in puzzles, and younger ones in a game appropriate for their age! 💛
